The term “physical distancing” is better than “social distancing” as we deal with COVID 19. We need to stay socially connected while physically distant Karen Ellis

Nice to see this article by Robyn Hunt - Disabled people can’t be allowed to fall through the cracks of the Covid-19 crisis - get circulated on this side of the planet. thespinoff.co.nz/society/30-03-… #accessibility

As we head into the long weekend please remember that tomorrow and Sunday will be the first days off for many who have worked in grocery stores, pharmacies and other essential services. Please be kind and patient when shopping and make sure to thank them!

A 3rd party vendor complained that our accessibility standards were too high compared to other customers they service. I took it as a compliment, but deep down inside I feel it’s not that our standards are high, it’s others are too low. <tear drop>

In 18+ years in digital a11y, I haven't ever seen 100% perfect solution What I look for is an organization that is invested in #Accessibility, that continues to implement & better experience for customers or employees with disability. #AccessibilityTesting #DisabilityConfident

Web developers must focus on creating accessible websites for the health and safety of others. Pages must not contain harmful flashing content that could trigger a seizure for a person with epilepsy. Sterling Creations can help make your website accessible for all. #A11y

When building websites, remember that seniors require the ability to increase the text size in a page and see consistent navigation which allows them to "remember" their way around. #A11y #webaccessibility

I'm Xmas wrapping - Hey, what's everyone using for sighted assistance with a camera image - I used bespecular last year with really great results but there don't appear to be any sighted assistants there anymore? #a11y #blind #accessibility

Heard at the APM: "The cost of exclusion is bigger than the cost of inclusion." Our goal is to make things accessible by default, and inclusive by design. #MakingCanadaAccessible

Disabled people are 25% of the population. We don’t need disability awareness. We don’t need ability awareness. We need ableism awareness. We need action.
