This #TrilobiteTuesday: A recently described Bohemolichas incola, an #Ordovician #trilobite from the Czech Republic. Scans of a 3D specimen show its gut was full of shell fragments, suggesting it was an opportunistic scavenger. Superb science! Image: t.ly/7kwbl

One last paper for the year, and shockingly, it's on arthropods. Led by Sarah Losso, new data from the Walcott Rust demonstrates how trilobites were able to enroll their bodies. Javier Ortega Hernández Museum of Comparative Zoology MCZ Paleontology: tinyurl.com/yc4aahfp

A little more field work done in scenic Strahan, TAS! We were mapping outcrop, collecting samples of plants and ambers, and generally enjoying some lovely sedimentary structures. Hoping the amber we collected yields lots of pollen and bug bits!

SAM is such a valuable repository not only of knowledge or fossils, but those who work with them. These folks are invaluable- fight to save the SAM’s science!

Thank you to all who supported me in the recent #3MT finals round at Monash University ! It was great competing with so many talented researchers (and justifying my theater kid background 🙃). Hope you enjoyed hearing about old bug bodies 🦀🦐🐜! #SciComm #paleontology #FossilFriday
