It is very sad for me that the DER STANDARD which has been my Austrian daily newspaper since 1988, has recently become more and more like "The Sun". Take #schilling as a prominent example Gerold Riedmann

By studying the reaction of a diarylphosphinophenol and oxiranes, we were able to answer the question of why tert-phosphines are poor initiators for epoxy homopolymerization, but perfect for curing epoxy phenolic resins. Previously seen ChemRxiv now out: link.springer.com/article/10.100…

The group had a great time at IUPAC Macro2024 Conference-University of Warwick and they came back with a lot of ideas for the conference #ypra that they will be organizing in September. tugraz.at/institute/ictm…

During the Austrian Chemistry Days Österreichische Chemische Gesellschaft (GÖCH), Karin Ratzenböck and Susanne Fischer received the Best Review Article Award 2023 of the Monatshefte für Chemie #springernature for their paper on oxa-Michael polymerization. link.springer.com/article/10.100… Many congratulations!

Understanding the reversible intercalation of guest molecules into MOFs is crucial for advancing their design for applications. In a new preprint, Nina Strasser et al. explore the impact of crystal water on the thermal expansion of a zinc-based MOF: arxiv.org/abs/2504.05189
