I have been saying this all week, and I will continue to say this, WoTC WILL NOT BACK DOWN!!! They are spending $250+m on #dndbeyond and will do EVERYTHING to KILL OGL 1.0a. They will NEVER stop. Cancel your DnD Beyond subscription TODAY! #OneDnD #OGL #TTRPG #OpenDnD #StopTheSub

Yet again, the huge concern here is: how can we trust this? WotC can't even admit that the OGL 1.1 wasn't a draft (which is provable beyond a doubt), so how can we trust a company that can't even do that? And the leaks (which were verified) that caused this 'misinformation'-

They are still deauthorizing OGL 1.0a, in other words, not listening to the main piece of feedback. CC is a great step for the “core rules” but they’re excluding all spells, monsters, magic items, classes, and races in the SRD. What’s the point??

I've confirmed this with my lawyer. Dungeons & Dragons say it has the WORD "irrevocable" and immediately redefine it. It is an underhanded trick generally found in the nine hells. They will do anything to get rid of OGL 1.0a. This is not a compromise. This not good faith. #OpenDnD

So my position is clear; #DnD OGL 1.2 is currently not acceptable. Too many dubious clauses, sneaky loopholes, & and too much power on WotC's side. We're in a contract negotiation right now, it will be a back -and-forth. What WotC does next is key, so stay vigilant.

WOTC's morality clause is BAIT. Yes, it's draconian and hypocritical. But don't call on them to exclude it, as they'll twist it. We're not engaging in a dialogue with them on HOW to revoke the OGL 1.0a. THAT IS IRREVOCABLE. Don't let WOTC control the conversation. #OpenDnD

You say you'll limit yourself to journalism, fine. So don't editorialize on what people should fight for. And your article on 1.2 only quotes WOTC: sure, it was breaking, but STILL no update or mention of the 1500 co's who have walked away from WOTC? Journ. req's that. #OpenDnD

still waiting for @hasbro & Dungeons & Dragons to explain how existing content can remain legally available under v1.0a of the #ogl if they succeed in deauthorizing it.

One more problem with OGL 1.2: it claims you agree to it just BY PUBLISHING something. 1.0a had this, but didn't take rights away. So just publishing for D&D makes you waive your right to jury trial, right to sue to stop them from publishing your content, etc. #OpenDnD #dndbegone

The OGL v1.2 draft is still really bad; WOTC is up to the same trickery, only under a different guise. I break things down from my point of view here: youtu.be/Mxy4XUjpKWk #opendnd #stopthesub #dndbegone

Looking forward to the next #OGL update to see how WotC shows the importance of defending their intellectual property. Unrelated, hey, remember six months ago when the first official poster for the D&D movie used Paizo art?

io9 OGL1.0a is a 23yo contract, understood irrevocable by all parties. They tried to revoke it by reinterpreting ONE word ("authorized") as present tense adjective not past tense verb. How can we trust a new MANY word license? Screenshot from OGL FAQ on their website for 18 years:

Ginny Di D&D Beyond Echoing what Ginny has said here. Appreciate the effort to listen and earn back the faith/trust from the community. CC for SRD 5.1 is a HUGE benefit for creators like us.

It's a good start. Will I be resubbing to D&D Beyond ? Not for the foreseeable future. My players and I got into #Pathfinder and I don't think we're turning back. The bridge was burned. But this is a huge win for the community at large. #OpenDnD #DnDBegone #BlackFlag
