Bitter & cynical in a way that can only be created by 40+ years in the NHS & 50+ years loving county cricket. Loathes city franchises, ECB and Lord's.

We are yet to see why the ECB want to sell stakes in the Hundred to private owners, expand the tournament so that it replaces the Blast. What are the likely consequences of ceding control to private interests? All fans deserve the answers & a say on these drastic plans.

To help improve awareness amongst cricket fans of the significance of the ECB proposals being discussed with county bosses this winter, we produced this explanatory note. docs.google.com/document/d/1nL… Members ought to have a meaningful say before these drastic changes are decided.

Watch this. Incredible. MP for Leeds NW catches out Graves. County members need to protect their membership or it will be gone forever. That whole relationship needs reframing IMO. But It is not like the leadership of UK cricket has acted as custodian FOR ALL over past few yrs

Interesting read with good research. The biggest cost may be the opportunity cost & the failure to build resilience into UK cricket. Now we're being told overseas investmt (& control) is the answer As the piece says The H*ndred only works if money/players come from elsewhere

1️⃣ DAY MOOOOOOOOOORE... Tomorrow we come together to celebrate this truly unique sporting competition. Thanks to everyone who's given us a retweet, badgered a mate, and helped spread the word. Your support has been magic. It should be a cracking day out #CountyCricketDay

It's today! Do consider going along to the game most local to you (bar Southport, which is sold out). And send photos to County Cricket Day afterwards. Enjoy! #CountyCricketDay

A very large anti-racist crowd in #Brighton. On the A23 entering here, the Patcham Pylons inscription hails guests and then says: “If friend we greet thee hand and heart. If stranger no longer be. If foe our love shall conquer thee.” That spirit proven a thousand-fold tonight.

A truly Modern Pentathlon would replace fencing and horse riding with logging onto a website when you’ve forgotten your password, and paying for parking in Camden on a phone.

In my upcoming newsletter, I'll be publishing the results of the New Year survey. (272 responses, two-thirds members, 45% going to 20+ days per season) Almost FOUR OUT OF FIVE believe the sale of H*ndred franchises will have a 'BAD' or 'EXTREMELY BAD' effect on county cricket

Keep an eye open and an ear to the ground members & supporters of county cricket. Big changes to the game are being proposed and you should have your say.

It's #CountyCricketDay on Sunday. Here's the info It says a lot about the way the county game has been treated by the ECB that it is a 'bottom up' rather than 'top down' movement But it is probably better that way countycricketday.com

In matches which will almost end in draws, and all because of Key's Kookaburra 'practise Australian conditions' obsession. When at the same time, most of the players who will be playing the Aussies will be playing India with a Duke. You should not be celebrating this.

Of all the financial shithousery that’s gone on in football, from World Cups in Qatar to Man City’s 115 charges, a punishment is finally served, on Palace for a bureaucratic detail that no one benefits from. You can’t help wonder if this world protects the super-wealthy a bit.

Just to let you know that the Metro Bank One Day Cup starts tomorrow - I can’t see one thing mentioning it on the BBC sports page tonight but it is happening… There were some fantastic games last season - let’s support them 👍💪
