Amur Falcons were the main target for this tour, so I was nervous as we arrived at Pangti hearing that birds had deserted the area. On arrival we immediately jumped into a boat on the Doyang Reservoir, and minutes later this was the amazing sight - and sound - that greeted us

Over 2 million bramblings at their roosting site near Langenthal, Switzerland. An incredible number of birds, noise and constant attacks from sparrowhawks, peregrines and buzzards. #birdsSeenin2023 #birdphotography #birds #birdwatching

2023 had some great patch birding at Port Meadow: Smew, 2 Kittiwake, Wood Sand, 50 Barwits, 5 Arctic Tern, Osprey, Marsh Harrier, tristis Chiff & Wood Warbler were all great birds to see, especially so close to a city centre. Also a productive year for dodgy record shots!

Some video of yesterday's Grey-headed wagtail by Steve Lavington. Patch back to its usual form today - highlight of this morning's dismal visit being two wigeon...

A great trip to Otmoor yday: 2 self-found Glossy Ibis (brief, distant views, but 1 stuck around for others to connect) plus loads of Cuckoo, Hobby and Bittern activity. 2 of the latter decided to circle around aimlessly for 5 mins, looking pretty ungainly in the air!

Incredibly emotional watching this Guillemot lay its egg today, alone on a ledge which once contained tens of birds. It's looking like bird flu may have taken at least 30% of our Guillemots, this egg our hopes for the future

No sign of the spoonbill this morning but finally some signs of movement with Glossy Ibis briefly (left high S) and 15 ringed plover. Ibis in active primary moult, does anyone know what this means for aging? Wasn't really in breeding plumage like the other bird currently in Oxon

My favourite composite photograph of a Spotted Flycatcher showing their behaviour perfectly. A perch, a sally, and an insect in the belly.
