The style and sporadic grotesqueness aren’t enough to save #Dolly from being a nothingburger of a slasher. It isn’t scary or thrilling, and the small body count makes the lack of suspense particularly glaring. My #FantasticFest review: guyatthemovies.com/gatmhome/dolly

Yup, after my second viewing of #OneBattleAfterAnother, I’m staying strong on my 5/5 score that I haven’t given to a movie since 2022. This. Is. Cinema.

Despite its shortcomings, #VHSHalloween is a step up from the franchise’s most recent installments. My review via WEHO TIMES: wehotimes.com/v-h-s-hallowee

Without the dog twist, #GoodBoy isn’t doing anything particularly new to set itself apart from the typical haunting narrative. However, the dog’s point of view does make for an effective and invigorating experiment. My review via WEHO TIMES: wehotimes.com/good-boy-movie

As far as biopics go, #TheSmashingMachine is a serviceable one with an impressive lead performance, but the impact is more of a jab than a knockout. My review via WEHO TIMES: wehotimes.com/the-smashing-m

#Hamnet is a soul-stirring upheaval that speaks to the multitude of ways humanity reconciles with the worst grief imaginable. Jessie Buckley is extraordinary and Paul Mescal delivers prose with such emotional weight. Jacobi Jupe is outstanding. Beautiful, yet utterly devastating.

Too much of #TronAres is spent in our world, shedding its enthralling digital worldbuilding in favor of an AI Pinocchio story. My review via WEHO TIMES: wehotimes.com/tron-ares-movi

#Urchin: A tragic drama that wields hope like a knife slowly piercing the heart. My review via WEHO TIMES: wehotimes.com/urchin-movie-r

#IfIHadLegsIdKickYou is a film unafraid to express ugly truths without casting prejudice on its lead character for feeling them. My review via WEHO TIMES: wehotimes.com/if-i-had-legs-

#ItWasJustAnAccident: Despite the heavy gravity of Panahi’s subject matter, he approaches this revenge thriller with glimmers of unexpected optimism and empathy. My review via WEHO TIMES: wehotimes.com/it-was-just-an

Bold of them to think that these screen addicts are even working and not just doomscrolling on social media. If you can't take notes with a pen & paper in the dark or at least watch a movie without your face buried in a second screen, this industry isn't for you.

#TinsmanRoad: There’s nothing more terrifying than anguish in this found footage gem, more interested in its haunting tapestry of sorrow and longing than it is in short-lived scares. My review via WEHO TIMES: wehotimes.com/tinsman-road-m
