#OnThisDay 108 years ago #WW2 fighter ace Eugeniusz Szaposznikow was born in #Poland🇵🇱. Szaposznikow served alongside other Poles in RAF 303 Squadron during the Battle of Britain. He shot down 8 Luftwaffe aircraft in just 5 weeks, contributing to his unit's top performance

Great Tweet by Polish Heritage Flight and if you want to see the Swinderby Hangar Doors they are on display at The Polish Bomber Squadrons Centre (RAF Ingham) in Lincolnshire open Thursday, Saturday and Sunday 10-3.

This unusual monument next to the museum depicts the iconic Major Oak from the legendary Sherwood Forest. It's surrounded by objects referring to WWI and there's the insignia of the Sherwood Foresters. It's the 'sister monument' to a larger memorial at Tyne Cot Cemetery.

A superb day at the Polish Bomber Squadrons Centre. Brian and his Father IC Members and WW2 Pod: We Have Ways of Making You Talk listeners came to visit and talk War waffle and buy books.
