Caught part one of #AIDSTheUnheardTapes last night, and it was excellent. Really captured the confusion, fear, misinformation, anger and despair / what-the-hell-bravado of those early years.

Dominic Raab won’t approve but I did indeed go the opera last week (it cost me £62). Tom Eisner, a working-class lad from Buxton near where I grew up kindly invited me. He’s been playing violin at Glyndebourne for 36 years. Never let anyone tell you you’re not good enough. 🎻

I went to #Glyndebourne #Opera in 1988 as an 18 year old #queer kid taking a #drama A Level, and with working parents who didn't own their own home. I saw the Electrification of the Soviet Union by Craig Raine. I'm 52 now and still remember it. The #arts are for everyone.

Off to #Bristol today for the @luhc #RoughSleeping Accommodation Team away day, and to meet the local @stmungos team. Looking forward to learning about the city's #homelessness challenges and exploring what could be done.
