I grew up handling toxic relationships. I've worked in mental health. I'm pretty comfortable in these situations and am decent at recognizing them. I don't expect anyone else to be, but I might ask you to walk away if you can't engage positively. But hey, I don't know all. NAD.

There's so many ways to look at last night, and i'm not sure any of them are wrong. I think I'm just gonna shut up about it now and learn what I can from it.

This much I do know: 99% of the time, the people telling you that there's only one right way to handle a situation, are showing inexperience, lack of insight, or are being disingenuous. Often, more than one of the three. We don't know the right thing. We agree on it.
