I’ve seen a confidential document from Lynton Crosby’s lobbying firm which advises Boris Johnson to ride roughshod over every convention and standard of propriety to pack the House of Lords. [Thread] theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

While his contemporaries painted female nudes, Gustave Klimt wrapped his muses in decorative gowns. Behind his trademark style, + pictured in the frame, was Emilie Flöge (1874-1952), an Austrian designer + businesswoman, who created corset-less dresses to liberate modern women

Celtic Cortege: John Duncan's mystical 'The Riders of the Sidhe' (1911, McManus Mus. Dundee) for #MagicMonday. Left to right: the Tree of Life denotes wisdom; the Grail Cup love; the Sword symbolises strength & power; the Stone of Quietness is hope, as it reflects past & future.

Happy Birthday, Gala Dalí, #BOTD 1894! Seen as a rival by surrealism's founder André Breton + cast as a ‘demonic dominatrix’ by male critics, this powerful muse was a model, co-creator + agent for Salvador Dalí, who justly co-signed paintings with her name

Literacy in Art. Tackling texts. Did you know the exam paper has a reading age of 17+? Today we unpicked our exam starting point to remove barriers, we used layered reading to support our understanding and make meaning and then we used stop and jot to demonstrate our progress.

The arts are so vital in our lives, they make our human creativity visible, they connect us in times of grief, struggle & celebration. Let’s save the arts in schools ❤️

As we begin #BHM let's celebrate Jamaican-born Fanny Eaton (1835–1924), an overloooked yet prominent and influential muse for the Pre-Raphaelites, who often played the role of biblical, mythological and literary heroines

Spent the last 8 weeks in classrooms, lecture theatres, sportshalls and offices (grateful for all of those opportunities 🙏🏻), so started my week of rejuvenation by getting out into some nature! Highly recommend to our trainees, would love to see some of your photos 🍁🪵🌳University of Worcester - PGCE Secondary course
