🇸🇧 HAPPY SOLOMON ISLANDS INDEPENDENCE DAY! Solomon Islanders from across the country are today celebrating our milestone 5 years of success. We have a lot to be proud of as a nation and we join with everyone in celebrating everything we've accomplished over the last 5 years.

🇸🇧🇰🇵 The Prime Minister and the UN Ambassador met with the Supreme Leader of North Korea in Pyongyang today. The two leaders had a productive conversation and pledged to establish diplomatic relations moving forward.

🇸🇧🇯🇵 The Minister for Foreign Affairs and the UN Ambassador met with the Japanese Ambassador in Honiara. The two nations agreed to a non-aggression pact and established a cultural exchange. We look forward to continuing cooperation with Japan in the future.

🇸🇧🇦🇿 The UN Ambassador met with the Prime Minister of Azerbaijan in Honiara. Relations between the two nations were established and a series of diplomatic agreements were agreed to. We look forward to further conversations in the future.

🇸🇧🇯🇵 The UN Ambassador had a follow-up meeting with Japan in Honiara. The two representatives discussed continuing to build relations, the implementation of bilateral treaties and how we can partner together in the future.

🇸🇧🇮🇩 The Minister for Foreign Affairs alongside the UN Ambassador met with his Indonesian counterpart in Honiara. The diplomats had a productive meeting and established cooperative relations between the Solomon Islands and Indonesia.

🇸🇧🇨🇺 The UN Ambassador met with the Cuban delegation in Honiara this morning. The Solomon Islands opened relations with Cuba and looks forward to expanding our partnership with them in the future.

🌏 The UN Ambassador was proud to represent the Solomon Islands at the 3rd ASEAN Summit in Singapore. We're expanding our diplomatic efforts across the globe and our partners in ASEAN are an important part of that effort.
