Employing the military instrument of power through airpower demands professional, dedicated Combat Search and Rescue. It is a crucial obligation owed to those service members who commit to the fight and accept the risk of isolation. That Others May Live. TOML! Secretary of War Pete Hegseth

It’s good when our CSAF sees what his CAF CSAR can do. A daytime, immediate dynamic CSAR with no blue losses, when rescuing DUDE 44A for real, is a better outcome than what happens in training at Red Flag and Weapons School Integration. This is a big deal because the boss is a

Since I have 14 min left in my 15-min fame from the EPIC FURY Easter CSAR, here's more insight into my community & how we got here. Many posts list must-read books, but if you want to understand why Apr 3-5, 2026 is a full-circle moment for USAF CSAR & SOCOM, read “The Guts to

With 12 of the 15 minutes remaining, let’s address the elephant in the room. For those outside these communities, the nuances aren’t always obvious. Many assume CSAR is SOF, or that it should be. But there’s a reason it isn’t. It’s been tried… repeatedly. The

The final 6-9 min of the 15 min of fame for CSAR. The national dialogue is moving on, so here is the last of the series. The Daytime Rescue of DUDE 44A: The Most Consequential Event in Recent CSAR History The daytime rescue of DUDE 44A was the most consequential single event in

B. McDonald “Shwag” Spot-on. Turns out we've trained to this type of fight for a loooooooong time in the CSAR mission. Things may have changed since they cut Red Flag Rescue to it's own exercise and stopped inviting certain communities to the big show in Vegas on a regular basis. Bottom line is that

The secret sauce is how CAF CSAR trains to ensure precision, trust, and immediate response are possible. Hint: it’s why the CSAR Weapons Squadron is purposely located on Nellis with the F-22, F-35, F-16, A-10, F-15E/EX, RPA, Command and Control, Space, Cyber, and Intel. Dynamic

And update the CSAR side story. This time when the Admiral says “launch rescue” the other Admiral says done. Then you see a pair of Jolly’s take off from an ESB or Indy Class LCS. Meet up with a King and then Maverick can clean the picture while we rage in… for Rooster?

This is compelling. You also brought up a Marine needing a new rifle as an analogy. I'd appreciate a sidebar about off-the-shelf capabilities I have in my car and home which, adapted to CAF CSAR, would be an absolute game changer.

Or it’s used to proofread emails and memos for grammar and spelling, and regulations and policy documents to figure out if what we’re trying to do is acceptable or requires an exception, and who the approval authority is for the exception.
