My poor Huckleberry had major surgery yesterday! His undescended testicle was stuck to his abdominal wall & they had to cut into his belly to get it out (& they took the other one). He’s wearing a donut instead of a cone to prevent him from licking at his stitches. ☹️

Did I tell you guys I saw a freakin’ 150lb MOUNTAIN LION in my neighborhood the other day? Middle of the day! Ran across the street right in front of my truck, and into a field. I live in rural north Idaho & we have nearby bobcats, moose, elk, & deer, but I’ve never seen THAT!

Amazing.

This is about a local dog out in my neck of the woods in north Idaho! Coincidentally, we also have a mountain lion roaming around the same area, & while keeping my eyes out for the dog, I saw the mountain lion instead. So grateful Tilly was found, just living his best life!!

Our friend, sister in Christ, & fellow author in our Save the Date antho, Marion Ueckermann, needs prayers! She’s got Covid and is on a ventilator. We’re praying on FB but I KNOW I have some Twitter friends who are prayer warriors too! Lord, please heal Marion, in Jesus’ name!

This heatwave in the Pacific Northwest may not seem like a big deal to people who live in states that regularly see 100+ deg heat. But just as Texas was unprepared for freezing temps & power outages (something we in Idaho deal with every winter), many of us here don’t have A/C.

The good news: it is 25 degrees cooler inside my house than it is outside. The bad news: it is still 81 degrees in my house. The good news: tomorrow it will be 13 degrees cooler than today! The bad news: tomorrow it will still be 93 degrees. #HeatWave2021

If only I’d had this super helpful knowledge a month ago, when it happened, I could’ve bought my kids… *checks notes* …a bag of carrots for dinner, instead. Please give me unsolicited diet tips in a more timely manner next time, Brian!!

Such a devastating loss! Erin had #ChronicPain and was actively seeking help, but not getting it. Doctors are more concerned with avoiding *potential* addiction than they are with treating *actual* pain. She told us the pain was not survivable. Sadly, she was right. 😢
