It is an active struggle to accept that full context and other perspectives will never be shared or part of a story. It’s distressing. But at the same time, what the fuck ever. It doesn’t actually matter anymore anyways.

No matter how old we get, my sister somehow always knows when to ask me if I’m okay. Even if I’m smiling or sending a simple text, she ALWAYS knows.

I did not think that there would ever come a day where I would find myself sobbing over chickens. But our chickens are sick and there is no cure. The most humane and logical thing to do is “cull the flock”. But it’s just so fucking unfair.

It’s almost my birthday and we all know what that means; time to listen to all my saved voicemails from my dad and cry. I’m at least grateful I can still hear his voice.

I’m spiraling over the fact that in just a few months I will be moving away from all of my best friends. It feels so wrong. I know I’ll be happy to be closer to my family, but that means I’ll be giving this one up.

My birthday used to be so important and special to me. But that magic is gone now. Nothing fills that hole. And the mask stays on for awhile, but never for very long anymore.
