Similar thing happened to my daughter when I pulled her out of traditional school in Jan (before all this) she’s now decoding words, using syllabication rules to spell, and gaining confidence and prosody. Why didn’t I do it before? No more “strategies” just decode!

This district Elkin City Schools is on board with the Science of Reading. The Hill Learning Center trained all K-3 and EC teachers. For virtual students, reading groups worked well in breakout rooms but K-2 students assessment were conducted in person at school.
