On Tuesday, Shom took delivery of its first autonomous surface vehicle (ASV) in Brest: a DriX H-8 named Marlin, manufactured by French company exail. The aim is to accelerate the cycle of ocean data production in order to meet new military and civilian needs.

Shom is supporting the transition to new marine mapping standards S-100. For the first time, it has led an international training course supported by PRIMAR, bringing together 10 civilian and military professionals from seven foreign hydrographic services.

From 15 to 18 September, Shom hosted the 21st Conference of the Hydrographic Commission of Africa and the Austral Islands in Réunion, where it represents France. Eighteen countries were represented at this International Hydrographic Organization IHO Commission, chaired by UK Hydrographic Office.

This week at #EUMSPDataWeek2025 in Helsinki 🇫🇮, Shom confirmed its key role in EU maritime planning 🌍 Notably during the final #ReMAP conference and the presentation of #Navisafe, dedicated to navigation safety within maritime spatial planning ⚓
