Photo of Charlie Parker in THE CONNECTION. Shirley's debut feature premiered in NYC on Oct 3, 1962. It was an adaptation of Jack Gelber's play about jazz musicians waiting for their dealer to arrive while they jam in a Greenwich Village apartment as a documentary crew films them.
