Chap.5,A1: What is within your circle of control? As a less experienced teacher, I would often say “I didn’t know or I don’t know” excuse. At another campus we did a book study on The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. This helped with my mindset. As a new to middle#EMSOZstudy

Chap. 5, A1 part 2: school teacher, I’ve learned to try to find out or be proactive. Even with lots of teaching experience, being new to content and grade levels, I’m trying to be above the line. #EMSOZstudy

Chap.5, A2: 6 and 8. Owning up to mistakes is never easy. As I’ve gotten older I get and the more teaching experience I gain, it becomes easier. Mistakes happen. As we tell our students, FAIL=first attempt in learning. I try to look at things from all perspectives. #EMSOzStudy

Day 6: When there is a struggle, conflict, or situation in class we discuss which one of the four traits could help us with the situation or issue. #CISDEdTechChat

Day 7: A hope I have for my students next year is that they realize how truly smart and special they really are. I hope they might see beyond the moment they are in to an incredible future. #CISDedtechchat

Day 8: I plan on attending professional developments and trainings specific to my content. I also plan on trying new strategies we learn in collaboration cafes, PLC’s and Tech. #CISDEdTechChat

A1: Differentiation allows us to meet each student where they are at and help them grow from there. Students can recognize their strengths and use them to help them overcome struggles. #CISDedtechchat

A2: I believe the most challenging aspect of differentiation is time management, organization, and teaching student progress. To differentiate successfully, you must know your students well and have an organizational system in place that works for you. #CISDedtechchat

A3: With technology today, differentiation has become easier. You can drop differentiated assignments in google classroom. Programs such as Imagine Math allow custom pathways. Istation and a reading atoz allow for lessons on particular strategies students struggle #CISDedtechchat

A5: Technology is ever changing as is how the school utilized it. I foresee programs becoming quickly and more adaptable to students as they interact with it. Similar to MAPs, Big Idea, Khan, the ability for custom pathways for students. #CISDEdTechChat

A4: My favorite strategy is small group. You can clear up misconceptions almost immediately because of the ability to recognize them quickly. Also, meeting them at their instructional and ind. reading level. Strategy grouping is key. #CISDEdTechChat
