“Travellin’ Song” was Pentangle’s debut single from 1968, and was never included on a full album. It was the only track that Shel added strings to. #britishinvasion #60s #folk

Shel recorded a version of Ike & Tina Turner’s “River Deep, Mountain High” with The Easybeats for their first album following “Friday On My Mind”. Recorded in February of 1967 at IBC studios, the track was a perfect choice to accompany the originals penned by Vanda and Young

Ray Davies penned “So Tired of Waiting for You” while still in art school, and featured a decidedly slower pace than some of the group’s other singles. The song has gone on to be recorded by Nancy Sinatra, Green Day, and countless others. #thekinks #kinks #britishinvasion

The Creation’s “Ostrich Man” was written by the great Eddie Phillips, and he also sang lead, and played both lead and rhythm guitar! Though it was recorded in 1967, the track didn’t see the light of day until 1982, on a retrospective compilation of the band’s tracks.

Penned by the great Ray Davies, “I Go to Sleep” ended up going on to be a top 10 hit in the UK by Chrissie Hynde and the Pretenders in 1981. You can also hear Peggy Lee’s version on the Ace Records compilation: “Kinked!” #thekinks #britishinvasion #music #rockhistory

Shel produced this LP for singer Vicki Brown in 1977, with all the arrangements done by Shel and the band. Unfortunately, the label, Power Exchange, ended up folding almost immediately after release, meaning that post-release support was limited. #music #70s #vickibrown #producer
