Our partner institute Scottish Association for Marine Science is deploying a FlowCytobot off Shetland. The device photographs algae and through machine learning can identify certain types. The technology could be a game changer for #HABForecast and #harmfulalgae research.

We've just finalised & made available all 2019 CPR data! This is a phenomenal achievement; #Covid19 forced many labs to pause sampling efforts, but thanks to support from the intl. shipping community & huge efforts from the CPR Survey team, the Survey continued uninterrupted!

Look at this! Hitchhiking algae. Among the plankton is this copepod with an epizoic diatom bloom growing upon its body. But, what is the relationship? ZEISS Microscopy
