Whilst volunteering at The Old Operating Theatre Museum & Herb Garret family workshop, I got to see the ‘Anatomy and Beyond’ temporary exhibit including a painting from The Old Anatomy Museum, Trinity College Dublin Evi Numen! This exhibit uses art to investigate the relationship between medicine and humanity. See it before it closes in Dec

Always fun going out into the community with The Old Operating Theatre Museum & Herb Garret and using museum collections to share the history of medicine #histmed #london #museum

Dr Robyn Atcheson has called on Belfast City Council to commemorate, to memorialise a "forgotten" burial ground in the city. I support Dr Atcheson's call. Well done Mark Simpson on highlighting the story. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

Excellent exhibition, ‘Making the Rounds’ at Royal College of Nursing Libraries. This exhibit explores the experience and stories of workhouse nurses in Norfolk. As artefacts tend to not survive from workhouse infirmaries, artist Connie Flynn used textiles to share these stories #workhouse #histmed

Looking forward to returning to Trinity Long Room Hub to speak about medical care and death in post-Famine workhouses

Honoured to have contributed to this volume on death and institutions. My chapter examines how the priorities of post-Famine Irish #workhouse administration shaped the institution’s mortality rate.
