This thread of anthropological observations about Christmas was amazing, especially the realization that Christmas is a part time job from mid-November on. I feel very seen.

Found out today that I received the Mary K. Sommers Dissertation Award, which is given to one student in Purdue's College of Education each year. This time last year I was struggling just to finish, so to win an award is pretty special. Hang in there dissertators! You can do it!
