168 SGDSB Ss and staff participated in an #experientiallearning Skills Ontario Pastry Arts workshop. Participants learned about the terminology, career path, and skills involved in being a Pastry Chef. Ss were proud to showcase their decorated cookies:)! OYAP-PAJO

Over the past month, SGDSB Early Years Ss used inquiry and play to explore the #skilledtrades involved in building a🏠. Ss spoke about teamwork, design, creativity, numeracy, and problem solving. Jamie McMillan @KickAssJourney was on-hand to celebrate the learning. OYAP-PAJO

Today SGDSB partnered with Skills Ontario to teach 81 Gr.4&5 Ss about the motive power sector. Ss heard from industry professionals&a Tech educator about trade and tech programming/opportunities. Ss finished the day using #21stcenturyskills to build an electric car.OYAP-PAJO

This gov’t has NO IDEA how much the system relies on the goodwill of #onted workers to go above & beyond in order to provide the “normal” school year they promised (e.g. w/ extracurriculars, after-school help, prom, grad). They have just killed any goodwill that was left.
