Genuine question/discussion. I strongly believe that building intrinsic motivation in schools is the key. Most schools utilise some form of extrinsic motivation. How do we use this appropriately? Or do we get rid of these rewards altogether. Let me know if I'm not being clear

I’ve been to an awards ceremony at my son’s school today. Kids were awarded for 100% attendance, and specifically for coming into school when ill and “pushing through.” A teacher was awarded for working every evening &always being available. This needs to stop. It’s just wrong.
