Leadership isn’t proven when you win, it’s revealed when you lose….. If you can’t say “congratulations” and show grace in defeat, what kind of leader are you really? Character for me, matters more than titles.

Congratulations, dear Mia Amor Mottley, on your re-election to lead Barbados. Together, we have moved climate justice forward: we got financing moving, changed the rules, and carried the voice of the countries most exposed. Happy to continue these fights at your side.

Long tweet thread in coming. Just my two cents….. but Barbados voter turnout isn’t “collapsing” because Bajans “don’t care.” Turnout rises and falls depending on context. That’s normal in democracies worldwide. Back in the day, party loyalty was stronger. Voting was identity.

It's not just not voting... people aren't participating in society or governance... PTA meetings, Civil society groups... none of it... I'm not arguing the source, I'm pointing out the outcomes... it becomes a cycle which reinforces itself and issues will get worse...
