Very interesting narrative. Can draw similar comparisons to modern online coaching which has seen advent of “the marketing cricket coach” who builds credibility on the back of likes/followers/subscribers from carefully controlled and edited content inspired by social media gurus

What an achievement! So proud and happy for Ella, Georgie & Paul. Seems like yesterday a wide smiling 11 year old first walked into YoungGun Cricket and we have both been smiling ever since. One of the most coachable & best problem solvers I’ve been lucky enough to work with

It’s franchise cricket. Doesn’t matter if you make 60 or 203 chasing 204 you still lose. Don’t fall for bullshit of Bash Boost etc Players will be on the golf course tomorrow and move on quickly and be better next game. Bing and Junior carrying on like The Ashes were lost

There’s often commentary around Dan Christian being a valuable member of any T20 team because of his experience. It also can’t be forgotten he’s also simply bloody good. World class role player, genuine match winner. #BBL10

Plenty of discussion about the Melbourne Renegades overseas imports and needing to bring in local Vic Premier Cricket talent which I agree with but losing one of the best T20 players in the world Dan Christian because he wasn’t worthy of a 2 year contract was horrific list management

Amazing achievement for the 8 boys and Club as a whole, probably should remind people Parker and Fraser-McGurk are still Under 19 as well. Guessing they would have played if not for higher honours. Which makes it 10 Tigers in Cricket Victoria Under 19 Squad. #Unprecedented #proud

Absolutely heart broken for my mate Michael Robinson and Graeme on the tragic loss of Heather. Heather was a wonderful support to her son and of our club. Sometimes life just isn’t fair.

Really enjoyed talking Vic Premier Cricket with Mitch Johnstone & Coaching in Clubland Podcast for having me on. Not many locally focused Coaching resources out there so if you’re into coaching jump on have a listen - plenty of valuable insight from people like Rogers, McGuane, Shaw, McKay etc

If you’re a coach at any level of have an interest in the day to day of Clubland and high performance sport you should definitely add this to your podcast list. Details of where you can find it below

During 350 days of Lockdown. I could have A: Marched out just another online Academy. B: Got a heap of pros to tell people how they play C: Gone to a outdoor net and been just another half arsed coach D: Created an Elite cricket player development experience I chose D

While most people are looking to Darwin in Aussie Winter. Scott Edwards keeps getting better. Another world class opposition overnight and another unbeaten half century versus Pakistan Cricket as the Dutch fall just short. This bloke is a serious player on the WORLD stage.

“We’ve had some frustrations the last couple of years trying to find a spot for Scott in Australian domestic cricket and the BBL, even though he can play as a local.” Scott Edwards has 14 ODI half-centuries in 42 games but the Netherlands captain keeps being bypassed back home.
