At the end of February, UK Defence Intelligence estimated over 1,250,000 Russian casualties. Today the Ukrainian Defense Ministry declared ~1,342,030 dead or wounded Russians (which is roughly in line with UK projections). That’s ~3.6% of Russia’s entire male population ages

Russian assets have been mobilized to demand Ukraine’s capitulation. That is a clear sign Ukraine is performing well on the battlefield.

Сравните украинский город Харьков, который вот уже 5 год живёт под массированными обстрелами, и любой российский город миллионик, до которого изредка долетают украинские дроны

The more Russia loses, the more Putin will demonstrate readiness to negotiate -- to limit the losses, to win time to rebuild and regroup, to prepare for the next attack.

Ukraine is now intercepting around 90% of Russian drones and nearly 80% of cruise missiles despite Moscow intensifying its air attacks, Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov said. kyivpost.com/post/75934

Ukraine wants peace, the U.S. wants peace, Europe wants peace. The only obstacle to peace is the butcher in kremlin, who wants his imperialistic war to continue to subjugate Ukraine, erase its democratic institutions, identity, language and culture.

Rather than flog this dubious claim, better to note that Russia recognized Ukraine’s international borders - including Crimea as Ukraine - in a treaty signed (2003) and ratified (2004) by Putin & his Duma.

Russian soldiers are dying like flies and losing ground in Ukraine so, obviously, the Kremlin is going full throttle on pushing its dumbest stooges to dig up stories than not even a crackhead would believe in 2026.

"The enemy is on the rise. The enemy has completed preparations for his strategic program of sidelining our economy through massive drone and missile strikes. The enemy currently has air superiority and is putting up the most active resistance on the ground. The latest attacks

A hundred years ago, in 1919–1920, we lost our statehood. Not because we lacked an army. Not because we didn’t know how to fight — Ukrainian troops fought bravely from Kyiv to the Zbruch River, from Odesa to Kharkiv. It wasn’t because we lacked statesmen — during those four years

My latest at The Bulwark. Ukraine has figured out how to kill lots of Russians very cheaply, and each dead Russian costs a lot of money. The math for Russia is unsustainable.

When Ukrainians reclaim their stolen cities and forcibly evict Russians from them, there will be loud cries from tankies and even European liberals about "ethnic cleansing." Remember this stuff when it happens.

A piece of paper won’t stop Putin, but the Ukrainian Armed Forces will. Any talk of limiting Ukraine's military is a non-starter. Russia is the only threat in this equation, so they are the ones who should be facing restrictions, not the people they attacked

The Russians are murderers and thieves. First, they wiped out what once was the thriving city of Mariupol, with a population of nearly half a million. The Uppsala conflict dataset currently has the total deaths there at up to 88,000 in under 3 months. We have satellite photos

Worth bearing in mind that what the Ukrainians can do, the Russians can also do. No other countries in Europe, or for that matter the world, have a fraction of the expertise in drone warfare. Unless we learn quickly from Ukraine, we're all in serious trouble.

The Russian elites profited from the war at first. And Putin used it to consolidate political & economic power to Stalinist levels, and expected to tout glorious victory over NATO/Europe/USA via Ukraine, with territorial conquest as well. Now that is over.
