God quickly presents us with opportunities to pick up our cross and die to ourselves once we make the decision to start living for Him.

It must be strange to be a guy named Al in the AI era "I Love AI!" "I hate AI!" Meanwhile Al is just sitting at home watching all these people espouse strong opinions about him.

I feel like I'm on a different planet from most programmers who seem happy to abstract away the complexity of engineering and offload it to AI.

At church today I heard a message that was so specifically aimed at me in my particular situation that it's sending me spiraling (in a good way, what an amazing God we have)

AI can only make slop. There are and never will be any exceptions. Even if it succeeds in creating fusion reactors and FTL travel, it will still be slop.

I had a horrible stomach ache last night and ended up having the wildest night of dreams I've ever had. And every time I woke up and went back to sleep the dreams would pick back up. I felt like Dave from 2001, strapped in as I blasted through a hyperspace for 8 hours straight.

"Maybe your faith isn't real." I see this idea tossed around from time to time to make people question if they've really been given a new heart after accepting Jesus because they remain stuck in their ways. This is pernicious and damaging. Jesus Himself says it will take time.

Think of temptations as arbitrage opportunities. Evil fills in the empty space when our heart or mind is not filled completely with God and His love. Keep yourself topped daily off with prayer, fellowship, and reading the Bible and temptation will have no opportunity to take root

When you do something bad and repent, God will let you fall into the same or similar conditions again to test you and let you prove yourself.
