On the hill today pushing congress on the SIV numbers emergency and I ran into Department of State A/S Rena Bitter. A/S bitter has been an incredible partner in the #AfghanEvac work. She and all of consular have been processing SIVs in record numbers. Now we need a LOT more.

Thanks to the dedication of our donors, volunteers and staff, No One Left Behind's efforts moved 260 people out of harm's way in the month of March. That brings our current number to 1,163 allies evacuated since January and a grand total of 5,988 lives saved since August of 2021.

I support President Trump’s efforts to eliminate programs at the State Department that do not put America first, including many of the wasteful, woke programs the Biden administration prioritized that I tried to eliminate when I was chairman. But I’m concerned about reports that

1) President Trump is correct that the US withdrawal from Afghanistan was “perhaps the most embarrassing moment in the history of our country.” The manner in which the withdrawal was conducted was shameful, and we left Afghan allies of 20 years to the predations of the Taliban.

They thought they’d never make it. After undergoing rigorous vetting and finally receiving their Special Immigrant Visas, this family finally saw a path to safety—a promise made years before by the United States. But in January, everything changed.
