They are accused of being involved in the death of a Basiji (or an IRGC) member during demonstrations and, therefore, may be executed. The Islamic Republic regime is killing innocent people like them in prisons to suppress the current revolution in Iran through intimidation.

One of my radiologist friends (Hamid Ghareh-Hassanlou) and his wife, together with 11 other citizens, were arrested in Iran last week during participating in the “40th day after death” ceremony of one of the victims of the recent protests (Hadis Najafi). #Mahsa_Aminiمهساامینی

Picking up inspiring indications that the protests in Iran are gathering strength. The BBC reporter concluded, “Who knows where it will end?” Decent people all over the world must hope it will end with the toppling of the disgusting Ayatollahs and their Islamic tyranny.

When I was invited, along with three other UK based colleagues, to organise the EEL London masterclass on #endometriosis , I was delighted to accept. I then invited another two colleagues based on my network and their expertise and availability.

And thanks to those who raised this important issue of lack of inclusivity on panels, it is one that I am fully behind. There was absolutely no intention to exclude women, I’m very proud to work with excellent female and male #endometriosis experts.

Having Patient representatives on panels making decisions or advising on policy is crucial but it doesn’t make any sense for a course aimed at surgeons who have already decided they want to dedicate their careers to helping women with #endometriosis

There seems to have been a very big misunderstanding by some, thinking this is a “panel”. It is not. It is a course, a masterclass in #endometriosis surgical techniques, aimed at gynaecologists who want to improve their skills and learn a few tips.

I will come back to this point as it is, I believe, the crucial one and don’t make any apologies for going on about it. Let’s deal with the concerns raised.

The delay in diagnosing #endometriosis is partly due this huge misconception that it is just a period pain. To suggest that male doctors don’t take endometriosis seriously because they have never had a period, helps that damaging narrative.

I am delighted to see this textbook on #endometriosis and adenomyosis published. Honoured to have contributed to it. Congratulations to Prof. Oral and his colleagues.

Live surgery from The Lister Hospital endometriosis centre on Saturday and also yesterday demonstrating our SOSURE technique for excision of #endometriosis . Both patients had bilateral endometriomas treated with laparoscopic alcohol sclerotherapy to save ovarian reserve.
