“Doesn’t mean they should all go with out, though.”

“Well it’s paid off.” He shook his head at her cheer. She’d always been energetic and driven. It’d always been too exhaustive to try and match her enthusiasm. “You… uhh seeing anyone?” He glanced over the rim of his cup as he drained it.

“Oh I was just wondering, thought you might be trying to impress someone specific.” He couldn’t help but stare for a bit, before shaking himself out of it. Once more he filled their drinks. Leaning back he drained it once more, feeling the effects and enjoying her company.

“Well…” He let his voice draw out, as he tried to met her gaze. Stretching, he leaned forward on the table, a hand towards her. “…there might be, but that also might just be the drink talking at this point.”

“That sounds like a good idea. Wouldn’t want to get you to embarrass yourself.” He tried to play it off, but he could feel the warm flush on his cheeks. They had gone through two bottles quite quickly. “I’ll pay, don’t worry.” Unsteady on feet, he leaned against the table.

“You hold your liquor better…” He rested his head on her shoulder as they walked out together. His arm wrapped around her waist to help steady himself. “…and smell nice.”

“You should stay the night, shouldn’t walk home drunk by yourself.” He mumbled, booping her nose as he got into bed. Scooting over, he patted the open space. There was smile and a wink as well.
