I have not been a believer in the robotaxi concept, although last night's presentation made me think it was possible. Hiring professional drivers to manage "herds" of cars always seemed necessary. The cars seem nice, though I wonder if the seats could rotate and extend to make

It appears to me that the Democrats might yet win, but they have done everything they could think of to try to lose the election. It makes me very concerned that they foresee something terrible and unavoidable in the near future.

I went to vote.gov and it has voting help ("Know your voting rights") for people in 8 special categories, but it doesn't appear to have any help for people who have lived here as citizens for a long time.

I think my vote counts. Psychology exists because modes of thought can be categorized. There are far fewer categories than there are people. So my vote doesn't just represent me, but everyone in my psychological cohort, since we will act in concert.

The electoral college was designed to be deliberative, but it no longer is. Maybe we should just replace it with having a joint session of the new Congress choose the President and Vice President. That would achieve a similar end, but be more organic and less of an artifice.

I see that Biden's pardon of Hunter extends to all crimes from about a month before the Crimea invasion until the end of this year. So he has about a month remaining in which federal law does not apply to him. What would you do differently if federal law did not apply to you?

When Jerome Powell sharply cut the Fed rate target last September, he was either anticipating an economic decline or else he was trying to create a short-term economic boost to help the incumbent. It now appears that his temporary policy shift was driven by politics rather than

"And then, one Thursday, nearly two thousand years after one man had been nailed to a tree for saying how great it would be to be nice to people for a change, a girl sitting on her own in a small café in Rickmansworth suddenly realized what it was that had been going wrong all

It doesn't make sense that Trump would want to cede the occupied areas of Ukraine and also want access to Ukrainian rare earths. Since most of those deposits are in the occupied areas, by ceding those areas, he's basically giving the deposits to Putin.

In his "1984", George Orwell called the party of Big Brother, Ingsoc. Which was shortened from "English Socialism". I don't know if he ever explicitly associated Ingsoc with the Fabian Society, but I recently found out that it was founded in 1884. I think that supports the link.

I think Leo XIV seems off to a great start. I do have a bit of a hangup about the name Leo, though, since it was Leo XIII's Apostolicae Curae that declared Anglican orders to be null and void. So it seems divisive.

Objective facts are those facts that can be communicated and verified. But the verification step is necessary because it is not a part of the communication. The communication may assert verification, but it doesn't contain that verification. Thus, the objective facts comprise

Physicalism isn't just a little bit wrong. It isn't falsified only by esoteric experiments. It is falsified in the qualia, that is, in every experience in every moment. And you have these experiences already.
