NYPD Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch announced today that officers will now be given annual week long, in service training throughout their career’s. This is long overdue and I applaud Jessica S. Tisch for recognizing the lack of training and seeking to resolve this issue.

This spring, the Bronx will be split into two patrol boroughs — Bronx North and Bronx South — to handle the volume of work in those communities. Bronx residents have raised this issue for years, and it is past time they get the equity they deserve.
