Spoke to one current player, he spoke to coach Thad Matta as recently as Friday, discussing plans for the upcoming season. Clearly, there was a change of heart/circumstance in the two days following.

Beyond grateful to have you as a coach. The impact you made on me in a year was beyond basketball and I truly appreciate you for that. Regardless of what people say on the internet, you’re a legend and I am blessed to be a small piece of your career. Love you coach forever🤞🏻🤞🏻❤️

There is no dialogue with Butler, nothing behind the scenes with anyone from Butler. Shrewsberry will return for his fourth year at Notre Dame. Maybe too a fifth, sixth and seventh.

Can confirm Butler is hiring Atlanta Hawks assistant Ronald Nored as its next men’s basketball coach Nored was 44-56 in two seasons as head coach of the Long Island Nets. The 36 year-old Indy native and 2x Horizon DPOY played four years at Butler, going to two championships

Butler is epected to have an increased rev share pool that will position it more competitively in the Big East after being in the bottom tier last year, per sources. Was going to be an essential element for whoever the next hire was if Butler was going to get back on track.
