Updated #drought monitor and the changes since last week show continued Extreme/Exceptional classifications for parts of the Central U.S. with conditions worsening in some areas of the Mississippi Valley. Improvements noted in the High Plains and Mid-Atlantic.

Per the 10 July 2023 national incident management situation report for national #fire activity, thus far in 2023: 25,630 Fires 731,382 Acres Burned 10-year average: 29,197 Fires 2,591,523 Acres Burned That's 1,860,141 acres below average for burned area w/ 3,567 less fires.
