why I won’t wear a mask

my ex called me a psycho a lot. our relationship ended with a drunken bender where he refused to let me leave his apartment for days because he broke my ribs & didn’t want me to get help. maybe i was psycho, but i wanted to get the fuck away from him.

There are the folks who just want to follow people like them, or follow nice folks. There are also those who expect us to do free emotional labor. Then there are the bullies who want a target who is too socially conditioned to fight back or insist she’s right when challenged.

It would be great if everyone in infosec could get a little better at recognizing patterns of abuse and stalking, so 30 of us didn’t have to keep shouting about it ad infinitum. It’s even an interesting nerdy topic. Start recognizing the abusers. They often tell you who they are.
