Today we met with Professor Jahangir Alam, Director of dhaka shishu (children) hospital, the largest children’s hospital in Bangladesh, to discuss its collaboration with Child Health Research Foundation (CHRF) and how Centres for Antimicrobial Optimisation Network can help support its development. This work is genuinely life changing Wellcome #AMR 🇧🇩🤝🇬🇧

22 graduated from Building Scientists for 🇧🇩 today. 1 left a mark: A microbiologist, post-career break for family, completed a training. She brought her mom, who watched her daughter during this time & her daughter, to get started on the new journey. 1 certificate, 3 generations.

Much of getting research grants in LMICs is knowing the right people (philanthropist groups) & convincing them to fund our research = (glorified) begging. I left Canada to come do science in Bangladesh. But became a part time scientist, full time beggar. Want to do more science!
