Budget has £2.6 billion of capital funding for new school places for children with special educational needs and disabilities. Whilst the world is moving in an inclusive direction, we will build more separate provision. Why not invest in strengthening the mainstream?

I have typed and deleted a message several times. I'm angry. And tweeting upset isn't my thing. But... The SEND funding changes taking place currently in Leicester City is going to have a massive negative effect on so many SEND children across the city. #TooAngryToTweet

Behaviour is learned. In the same way as Maths or English. Our job is not to punish bad behaviour. Our job is to enable children to learn and to improve.

When thinking about options of support for children it can be helpful to think 'would I want that though?' While supports that are fixes or solutions are attractive in their simplicity often humans just need time and relationships.. this is how we get where we need to get to.

Educators please don't design an extra assignment to accommodate and include students with disabilities, just design the main assignment so that it does not exclude them in the first place. Common sense when you think about it #UDL #inclusion
