I feel bad for Starmer. He’s a decent and intelligent guy. I hate that the rot in the polls seemed to start instantly with his response to the Southport riots, which says a lot about the sorry state (and trajectory) of our country when it was exactly the right response.

Final thought tonight: Reform and Conservative sources are jubilant. Their plan all along has been to try to help destabilise Starmer so much that Labour MPs force him out, believing all along that a change of leader will bring chaos from which they won’t recover.

If Labour think changing PM will help, it won’t. The media will hound and hate whoever takes Starmer’s place just as much. For some reason, they have a desperate desire to see Farage become PM. They are not acting in the national interest.
