Holland Park Business GCSE classes have been merged after one teacher proved to be inadequate in the role. Up to 60 students will now be taught in the main hall by one teacher with the inadequate teacher in a support role.

Prospective parents have been told that United Learning plan to introduce compulsory Religious Education GCSEs for Year 10s.

Just before term break, during a school fire drill, Executive Head Dame Sally Coates was overheard calling year 8 students “idiots”

Future compulsory RE GCSE, dedicated prayer room, optional am prayer for teachers - some of the changes United Learning have introduced. Swimming pool remains inoperable. Internal exams have decreased from 3 times per year to 2, reducing the opportunity for students to move sets.

What happened here?

Two years ago the swimming pool at Holland Park School became inoperable. Jon Coles told parents that it would be one of United Learning’s top priorities to get it repaired. Nearly one year on from the contentious take over and nothing has been done.

One year on from the highly contested take over of Holland Park School and we are all still waiting for the promised capacity. The pool remains derelict. Students do not conduct science experiments. What has increased? Exclusions.

Parents receiving inaccurate GCSE schedules for their children. United Learning slides riddled with mistakes. Students laughing at the inferior quality of UL learning materials. Who is keeping an eye on all of this?

Parents are not happy that Holland Park School, a non religious school, is now introducing compulsory RE GCSEs for all students. Is this what happens when secular schools become part of religious MATs?

Yesterday years 10 & 12 were informed that they will not have any lessons on Thursday. Why? Years 7, 8 & 9 are having their Sports Day at the Linford Christie Stadium that day. Parents and older years are not welcome.

The end of another academic year and favouritism at HPS continues unabated. Three parents attended the end of year staff party, welcomed by Dame Sally, to the dismay and discomfort of teachers and staff.
