ADU vote is about to happen. Based on councilmember comments leading up to the vote, it appears it will pass unanimously. Reason wins today!

Having lived in 2 ADU’s myself, I’m excited to vote in support of the ADU bill to increase housing options in our neighborhoods. As our city grows,we should grow together & grow equitably. This legislation helps us do just that.Mike O'Brien & central staff deserve a major kudos!

My Seattle City Council colleagues and I just voted to pass legislation to ease barriers on ADU/DADUs (backyard cottages and granny flats) so that smaller, denser, and more affordable homes will be easier to create in neighborhoods across Seattle!

The Seattle Times is a for-profit business whose major advertisers include car sellers and builders of suburban tract developments. Is it any surprise they oppose a plan to add more walkable housing inside Seattle? And how many on their opinion board even live in Seattle?

3 of the leading 4 candidates in Seattle's council race for District 4 are pro-housing, which is great. The main problem is the leading guy is pro-NIMBYism. People that care about Seattle's future and are in D4 need to get involved in the primary and vote.

Seattle Aug 6th primary, ballots in as of noon, broken out across 5 age groups of equal population size. 13% of registered voters under 30 have returned ballots, compared to 47% of registered voters over 63.

Ballot return rate of Seattle voters that gave vouchers this year is 62.4% as of noon Aug 6th. Attached chart breaks this out for each city council candidate (with vouchers from > 100 district voters) (does not mean the voucher giver voted for that candidate)

King County Elections released precinct level results for primary night (60% ballots counted). Attached chart shows how each precinct voted between the two candidates endorsed by either The Stranger or The Seattle Times.

More of the older voters get their votes in early. We knew this, but the chart & cumulative numbers might be interesting to people that like this kind of thing (Seattle, Aug 2019 City Council primary).
