Smoking is bad. You'd have to be moron to disagree. But, life is finite. By definition. Some things are pleasurable for some people, whilst being detestable for others. So be it. Choices are made. Deal with it (or, decide that others must fall to your choice, and vice versa).

When a Cymru talks of "the Butcher's Apron", they really need to be very careful about who they are talking about. We suffered it, and we wore it. And I really don't think that enjoying the Manics (or the Phonics, or SFA, etc) is a get out clause. This is abysmal.

If the accident of birth should have no part in government, could Sir [hahaha] Kier [hahaha] Starmer stop wanging on about his tool of a father [hahahaha].

Quite. Here is Ann Thomas, my paternal g-g-grandmother, known as Annie Baltic. She was the coal woman, the pub bouncer, and she was illiterate. Her descendants (nb short generations) are literate, and hate spreadsheets. She wins, but not as much as this welsh peasant does...

BBC Question Time from USA right now is genuinely, comically hilarious. As I've implied, on a four yearly basis, that country really would benefit from coming back under the Crown. Even if (indeed maybe because) the next episode of Question Time is from Rotherham.

Just in time for Christmas, a special issue of the Juridical Review has been published. This special issue on Moveable Transactions Reform considers the new Moveable Transactions (Scotland) Act 2023, which comes into force April 2025. The perfect read for the holidays.

The Welsh are and always will be foreign in England. Note the prevalence of Cymru as "Foreigners". We are the definitive, original, foreigners. But, are Estonians and Faorese basically Welsh? As for Irish, well, um....

Here's one for the colonials. You set up a country based on secularism, but you are having a flange over what someone in fancy dress says. Get a grip. They're just randoms in 18th century robes. They have no more moral authority than you or I.
