We're shocked and saddened after hearing the news out of London, Ontario. Hate and Islamophobia have no place in our province and we hope the community is able to come together to heal. Our hearts are with the victims' family, friends, and all those impacted.

We're also thinking of our friends at Thames Valley DSB and London's Oakridge Secondary School. Their board and school communities are mourning the loss of a student who will surely be missed by many.

HWDSB is deeply troubled by the hate-motivated Islamophobic murder of four members of a family in London, Ont. To honour its victims, our schools and administrative buildings will lower flags to half-mast. We mourn and grieve with you. Family message: hwdsb.on.ca/blog/family-me…
