#ThoughtForTheDay When people leave school feeling valued & appreciated they go home feeling better about themselves. Our impact carries well beyond the school walls. Give your best to others so they are in a better place to bring their best to their families. #LiveYourExcellence

#ThoughtForTheDay What we model is what we get. We should never ask students or staff to do what we are not willing to do ourselves. Let’s stop & take inventory on our own words & behaviors & see if they align with what we expect from others. #LiveYourExcellence #Culturize

Teacher language that destroys classroom/school culture...and even worse, destroy a kid👇🏼 ❌I’m done. I want ____out of my class. ❌____will never amount to anything. ❌We need to reward the ‘good’ kids. ❌___needs to pay for what they did. ❌___is a punk. ❌___is a brat.

Emotions are normal. We need to validate them for ourselves and others. Self control and self regulation are always a work in progress. If adults have to continue learning how to become better with this, kids for sure deserve our patience and grace when they are learning.

Teacher candidate today in an interview: ‘Of course I respect what previous teachers say about their former students, but in the end, it’s my choice in how I choose to see my students. I’m going to get to know them & ensure they know I care for them, regardless of their past.’
