Students literally helped pass the first gun reform bill in Florida in 25 years (the MSD public safety act)! ALL methods did it. They came, they spoke, they tweeted, they contacted legislators. That’s what it is going to take! We have work to do! #flgvpTownHall

Showing up to committee meetings and testifying in front of your legislators, making your voice heard! Also calling and emailing is always a sure way to get a message to them. #FLGVPTownHall

It all starts with being engaged. If you are aware of legislation that you support or are against MAKE SURE your legislators are aware! Reach out via email, telephone, Twitter, Carrier Pigeon! ANY way you can. This process works best when we hear from you!

Come out and make your voices heard in committee meetings. History will have a record of your advocacy!

Every legislator should “Adopt-A-School” and partner with students and clubs to create real legislative and social change. #FLGVPTownHall

Under normal circumstances, I believe it’s most helpful to meet in person. While this is not possible during the pandemic, it’s still important to communicate with your elected officials on these important topics.
