First grade students at Indian Trail went on a "Mission to the Moon" with the California Academy of Sciences. We learned about moon phases, shapes on the moon and even took a quick trip to the surface to see how astronauts get around in their spacesuits! #ScoutsTrailblazers

The “Make a Difference” Service Club at Indian Trail School sponsored a Fall Beautification Project for the building’s entrance. Members collected donations of straw bales, flowers and other decorations and sponsored a “Hats On” day to collect funds for additional decorations.🍁

The Indian Trail “Make a Difference” Service Club, along with the parents and students of Indian Trail in Frankfort, Illinois, had their sixth Pumpkin Decorating Contest/Food Drive. Students in grades 1-4 decorated and brought in pumpkins to help decorate the media center.

The catch?!? Everyone that entered the contest brought in food to benefit Frankfort Food Pantry. The contest had about 150 entries. The students and their families were very generous with their donations, and we collected about 10 boxes of food to help the needy at Thanksgiving.

Indian Trail School students have been working on their math fact fluency with the REFLEX MATH CHALLENGE! The Indian Trail Elementary 161 goal is to solve 1.5 million facts by Spring Break, and 1.3 million facts have already been solved! Mrs. Jurasits’ 3rd grade class is currently in the lead.

Indian Trail School recently celebrated World Read Aloud Week, which featured Indian Trail Elementary 161 students reading to other students, teachers reading to students, and some special guest readers including Superintendent Dr. Paul McDermott and Curriculum Director John Snipes, among others!

Indian Trail started their Shamrocks to Shave fundraiser today. For every dollar #ScoutsTrailblazers bring in they can add a shamrock to our Leprechaun's rainbow. All donations go to support St. Baldrick's Foundation through JuliasLegacy.

Fourth Graders went on a virtual field trip to The Buffalo Bill Buffalo Bill Center of the West in Wyoming. They learned about the four habitats found at Yellowstone National Park and about how the animals in the park have adaptations to help them survive. #ScoutsTrailblazers
