We expect ploughing will be wrapped up early this month if the weather continues to stay dry and mild. Thanks to Charlie from Sluie Estates, Stonehaven for having us today as he prepared the soil for sowing in March/April. LG Diablo seed incoming! #GrowingInScotland

This is great news for Scottish growers as the new maltings will require an additional 74,000 tonnes of barley to produce its expected annual malt capacity! #growinginscotland #scotch #whisky #farming

We're proud to play our part supporting the growth of Bairds and their customers. Sown, grown and malted in Scotland. #GrowingInScotland

A culmination of hard work from a lot of people right across the supply chain led to this point and we're glad to see the text on the side of trailer is a nod to Scottish barley that makes it all possible. #GrowingInScotland

Better weather has seen a huge jump forward in Scottish Spring barley planting albeit with higher seed rates to compensate for a later drilling window. Sowing could almost be complete in most areas and if the warmer weather continues we'll see further crop emergence #harvest23

Thank you Bairds Malt for having us again this year. It's always a pleasure to speak with Distillers about the vital role that malting barley growers play in quality malt supply. Fingers crossed for a good harvest this year! #GrowingInScotland #Malt #Scotch #Whisky

Scottish spring barley looking overall good at the moment with some areas requiring rain to fulfil the crops potential. The spread of sowing dates this year shows a range of developmental progress across regions. Diablo pictured. #Harvest23 #Scottish #Provenance

With harvest well underway in Scotland it's almost time to cut our Barley Trial Plots in Angus. Once harvested, this year's crop will go for micro-malting Bairds Malt lab in Arbroath. From there we'll have key data to determine the best varieties for future sowing #harvest23

We recently welcomed a film crew to our Witham maltings to shoot for a new series called On the Farm that starts at 8pm this evening on Channel 5. The story that follows the barley's journey from field to firkin also features St. Peter's Brewery & will be aired tomorrow.

🥳 Exciting News Alert! 🌾✨ To add to our major milestones this year, we’re proud to announce that we’re now part of Malteries Soufflet, after they acquired United Malt and its family of brands earlier this week. 2023 has been a momentous year for Bairds Malt.
