Maxwell says the bill is about local control, saying locals don't have to put in all of their taxes in district toward repayment. BUT if they don't they will not be involved in the incentive negotiation (still have normal zoning powers, etc) #ksleg

"It is inaccurate to say the taxpayers, or the city, or the state would ever be on the hook (for STAR Bonds)." - Korb Maxwell. #ksleg

Today we have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to make Kansas the permanent home of the Chiefs at no cost to taxpayers. Let your legislators know that you urge their YES vote today for the Stadium STAR Bond proposal!

#BREAKING: the Kansas Senate has passed a STAR Bond proposal 27-8 for a possible Kansas City Chiefs or Kansas City Royals stadium in the state. The bill now heads to the governor, who has indicated she will sign it. One lawmaker told me “this is the score part of scoop and score.” #ksleg

Border war? The vote failed in April. All options are now on table. Goal is to keep both teams in metro regardless of what side of state line. Hardly a border war. Kansas is trying to step up

Proud of the GOP controlled #KSLeg for officially letting the Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals know they’re wanted & welcomed in the State of Kansas. This is a fantastic accomplishment.

The new Chiefs stadium will bring 4,000 new careers to Kansas. Those are jobs that will grow our economy and provide opportunities to Kansas families - that doesn’t happen without this project. #ksleg

During construction alone, the new Chiefs stadium in Kansas will create 21,000 new jobs and $4.4 billion in new economic impact. None of that would be possible without the Kansas Legislature. #ksleg

Construction of the Chiefs new stadium will generate billions for our economy, meaning more tax revenues to pay for schools and roads. That’s new money coming to Kansas because of the Kansas Legislature. #ksleg

Most of the economic benefit of the $1B from Arrowhead Stadium each year goes to Missouri, even though many fans live in Kansas. The new domed stadium projects to generate even more & those benefits now shift to Kansas. #ksleg
