What’s missing?? Well for starters, there are NO regulations on the amount of carbohydrates (SUGAR) served within a given week or day. We must offer a whole grain (sugar), fruit (sugar), and milk (sugar) at breakfast. I wonder why students can’t concentrate?

Another terrible regulation: the #USDA is all about “no trans fats” but if you look at the ingredients on approved K-12 foods, they are packed with TRANS FATS. #ourstudentsdeservebetter #FeedTheChildrenTheySay

Did you know: School Nutrition Departments are a self-sustaining operation. They operate on reimbursements from the #USDA. In order to receive revenue from the government, we must stay in compliance. My problem is not with compliance, it’s with the outdated guidelines.
